Relaxing at the River

After they were done with their Sunday skate, I met some of the skaters at a bar that overlooks the river.

The guy from my hotel can now be officially recognized as Stuart.  He was there at the bar so eventually the name sank in.

From left to right: Stuart, Colin, Nikki, Asha

Collin was the rear marshal that had to put up with me towards the end of Saturday.  Gary is also to my left and Javier to my right.  I heard some of the others did not come by because they did not want to deal with traffic and having to find parking.  For Stuart, Nikki, Gary and myself it was only a 10 minute walk from our hotels.

That was a very popular bar.  I do not know whether it was the views or the food but both the indoor and outdoor seating completely filled up quickly.  I think I saw reserved signs on all of the outdoor tables, so I imagine one of the locals reserved it for us. Even being outdoors, where you might expect the volume of everybody to be a little less, it feels like I have a sore throat from all the yelling I had to do to talk to people.

The red and green lighting on the bridge is for the holidays:

  1. I’m so glad you were able to make it through one of the days! 25 kilometers is a long way, and with hills – whew, even longer! I hope your Tuesday lesson with Asha goes great!
